Right: Defendant may cross-examine witnesses, and require testimony of helpful witnesses

Argument: The word of witnesses outside of court used to be accepted as legal testimony.
Court Case: Crawford v. Washington (hearsay was used in trial against the accused)
Contemporary: All testimony must be heard inside the courtroom in front of the defendant to be accepted by the court
