Court Case/ Why? Cox vs. Louisiana 1964-1965
contemporary/why? Many strikes have been taking place, and one example is the bart system right now. They have been protesting for more money and a lot have lost their jobs over it.

  1. This states that the source of "The right of the people to peaceably assemble" Is, "The right of the people to peaceably assemble". The freedom of association clause IS the first amendment.

    He also cites examples of the arbitrary suspension of liberties by George III such as the right to peaceably assemble

  8. I can't find a direct quote or anything for this. But several essays attribute this idea to King George III who was the king we separated from.
